Miss Emma Cons

Portrait of Miss Emma Cons dated 1889. Cons was a founder of the Morley Memorial College for Working Men and Women. The inclusion of ‘Women' in the College title (distinctly pioneering for the 1880s) set a tradition of equality and opportunity which is celebrated in the the Morley College today.
